THE BUCHANAN STUDIO

I've always believed that feelings have their own landscapes. 

I am blessed to be surrounded by an amazing family who are so supportive of my daydreaming. I spend my days as a ER nurse where life unfolds in its rawest, most unpredictable moments. By night and in every other spare hour in between I paint, I create, I photograph. The studio has become a place where everything I witness, question, carry, and hope can quietly transform into color and shape.

My work is about creating emotional landscapes. Through translucent layers, color and forms, I am exploring memories, grief, wonder, and beauty of being human. 

I hope my work is able connect, allow you to slow down, breathe and remember even the most chaotic experiences can transform into something unexpectedly beautiful.
